Vintage Comic Postcard – “We Won’t Be Shy” Honeymoon Joke – Tuck’s Comique Series

A charming vintage comic postcard featuring two children watching a newlywed couple depart on their honeymoon. The humorous caption reads:

“We won't be shy when we goes for our honeymoon; we'll have Married put on the window!”

The illustration shows a railway carriage marked “ENGAGED,” a departing bride and groom, and the two children with their own ideas about marriage and honeymoon travel.

The postcard is signed by F. G. Lewin and forms part of the Tuck's Art Co. “Comique” Series, No. 2402, as printed on the reverse.

A lovely example of early twentieth-century comic postcard humour, with an amusing illustration and period social commentary.
