A dramatic vintage postcard showing a storm at the Redoubt, Eastbourne, with a huge wave crashing over the seafront wall beside a traditional street lamp and a moored vessel. A striking coastal scene capturing the power of the sea on the East Sussex coast.

The postcard is captioned “Storm at the Redoubt, Eastbourne.” The reverse carries a handwritten message from Eastbourne dated 29 July 1921, addressed to Miss Marion Maud at Eygam Cottage, Scarborough Road, Aldridge, near Walsall, Staffordshire.

The writer mentions enjoying their stay in Eastbourne and hoping the fine weather will continue. They also refer to having tea at Beachy Head that afternoon, adding a lovely personal connection to the area's history.
