A charming vintage colour postcard featuring the S.S. “Princess May” on a peaceful stretch of water, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and wooded shores. The steamer’s reflection is mirrored in the still water, while figures on the rocky shoreline add a lovely glimpse of life in the early days of leisure travel.

The front caption appears to read “S.S. ‘Princess May’ at Avalain”, although the place-name is not entirely clear from the image. The reverse has a traditional postcard layout and is marked “Printed in Saxony”.
